An old, beautiful cathedral sits still in the middle of the night. As the heavy door creaks open you inhale a haunting aroma. You immediately notice the faint smell of orange, camphor, and moss. Soon after the smooth blend of cedarwood, tonka, sandalwood, and light clove caress your senses. You walk deeper into the eerie quiet of the pews and notice the darkness brings some more comforting scents. Resin, frankincense, myrrh, and patchouli surround you in a warm essence so welcoming you don't notice what's creeping up behind you. You inhale deeply one last time, savoring the nostalgic scent, just as everything goes...black.
This is a light scent.

This oil captures the smooth, sweet smell of incense. It's a medium strength scent that isn't overpowering but lasts a good while. It smells very different in the beard than in the bottle. Combs through the beard (a little over 6 inches and bushy) easily. Shipping was slightly slower than other companies, but still good for a small operation. I will definitely order again. Now we just need some additional products like wash, natural deodorant, scented butter, etc. Keep up the good work!
Just got my hands on Midnight Mass from Black Manor Grooming and it’s a winner. The oil itself works wonderfully—smooth application, absorbs fast, and leaves my beard feeling soft and healthy all day.
The scent is deep, bold, and layered: bright orange up top, with camphor and moss setting an earthy tone. Cedarwood, tonka, and sandalwood add richness, while clove, resin, frankincense, myrrh, and patchouli round it out with a warm, mysterious vibe. It’s complex without being overpowering—perfectly balanced.
Black Manor knocked it out of the park with this one.
I can see why this sent sells out frequently, it's a banger. The scent really reminds you of going through an old abandoned church with wooden pews, old musty tapestries on the wall and shelves and shelves of old books, not the strongest of scents but that's okay! It sits well in beard and you catch whisps of it throughout the day. Another absolute winner
It's a classic smelling scent I feel like I can wear all year round.
So I wanted to take a bit and use this one for a while before leaving my review. I can honestly say this scent is amazing from day one through now. It is a much lighter scent than some of my other oils, but don't mistake that to mean its any less complex or long lasting. When I saw this one I was hoping it would be reminiscent of those old churches and chapels I used to find myself in when I was young, and frankly, they nailed it. The scents are subtle, but full, and easily bring me back to rows of silent pews. I love this scent for daily wear and strongly recommend it for both the scent and quality of the oil itself.
Another amazing job, Black Manor!
